Why Passive
This is a DisplayPort → HDMI one-way cable (DP male to HDMI male)
Such cables usually use DP++ (Dual-Mode DisplayPort)
That is, the DisplayPort port itself outputs the HDMI signal, the cable only passes the signal
Passive cable requirements
This will work if:
Your DisplayPort port supports DP++
Most GPUs (NVIDIA / AMD) and many motherboards support it
Passive cable limitations
Typically up to 4K 30Hz or 1080p 60Hz
HDMI → DisplayPort will not work the other way around
