ICT State Minister Palak directed to keep unnecessary lights and fans off to save electricity

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak has taken up a one-month challenge on the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to save electricity and cost. As a part of this, Palak has instructed not to spend unnecessary electricity and energy on coming to the office in the morning.

According to the sources of the ICT department, the state minister came to the ICT tower in Agargaon around 9 am on Tuesday. After coming to the building, he visited different floors and was instructed to turn off unnecessary lights, fans and AC.

In particular, the state minister instructed them to keep the corridor lights off at all times. Besides, the lights will be kept off where the light of day light will come. While outside the room, lights and AC should be turned off and AC should be kept at 25 degrees. Also, to save costs, he instructed them to provide only water instead of breakfast in internal meetings.

In this regard, ICT State Minister Palak said, I have accepted a one-month challenge in response to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's call to save electricity and costs. But that work needs to start from one's own house. And that's why everyone should be aware of their own position.

He said, came to the office in the morning and visited the 15 floors of the ICT department. I saw using unnecessary electricity in the office, kitchen, and corridor. I visited every office and was instructed to switch off all unnecessary electric bulbs and AC.

When asked about reducing other expenses of the ICT department, Palak said, "We can reduce the cost of breakfast and food in internal meetings. Therefore necessary instructions have been given.

Apart from this, the foreign tours of the officers and employees of this department have been stopped earlier under the government directives.
