There is no fixed answer. Channel count, supported resolution, recording bandwidth, storage capacity, PoE capability, and other features all affect recorder cost. Comparing the complete camera system is more meaningful than comparing DVR and NVR prices alone.

Can I use an IP camera with an existing CCTV system?

Possibly. Some XVR or hybrid recorders support traditional cameras together with a limited number of IP cameras. If the current recorder does not support IP, a separate NVR can be added while the existing CCTV system continues operating.

Is an IP camera safe from hackers?

An IP camera can be used securely when strong passwords, updated firmware, secure Wi-Fi, controlled permissions, and sensible remote-access settings are in place. Default credentials and outdated software should be avoided on any internet-connected surveillance equipment.
